This fourth and final step
is somewhat or a repeat of the third step. I basically repaint the final
digital sketch again but this time in oil paints. I use the higher quality
digital sketch as a guide. This painting is painted on a 24"x30"
canvas and can take a couple weeks to finish depending on my free time.
I normally have 3-4 paintings going at once so I can be constantly painting
while I'm waiting for the others to dry. When this is done, I scan the
painting into my computer at a very high resolution for later printing.
It's a long process and each painting can take 50 hours to completely
paint through all these steps. It's a long process but many people have
told me it's worth the time.
